The following is a typical service call procedure for service professionals.
Note: As an Cajunaire Authorized Representative, you must visit each unit you have under contract at a minimum of 6 month intervals (some states may require more frequent service). This is not the same as 2 times a year. You must also provide a water proof tag to attach to the unit to show your maintenance attention. If the system owner is not present at time of service you will need to contact him in letter form showing what service or maintenance was administered, any discrepancies found, and a time and date of when the discrepancies will be corrected. From time of reasonable contact of the system owner to you or your business, you have 48 hours of which to respond to any service, maintenance, and complaints. Should you have a complaint filed against you, contact H. E. McGrew LLC immediately so that we may help you with the issue. The routine service procedure is primarily an evaluation of system performance.
Follow these actions as a guide through this 6 month service procedure:
1. Check for odor present
2. Check electrical connections
3. Clean aerator deck and filter
4. Check plumbing connections
5. Test alarm system by removing hose clamps and hose – this should
sound the alarm
6. Test On/Off switch
7. Check plumbing and fittings
8. Examine aeration equipment area for pest
9. Open aeration chamber and check for
a. Turbidity
b. Scum Overflow
c. Oils, Greases, and Fats
d. If the system is over two years old perform a solids test as
described in the Solids Testing and Pumping Instructions section
of this manual.
10. Check effluent for color and solids
11. Check chlorination system and points of discharge if applicable.
Usually, this is a quick and easy process. If you find any areas that need further attention, use the troubleshooting guide in your Cajunaire Distributors and Installers Manual to quickly locate and correct the problem.
